Indonesian People were Angry Because of One Governor Candidate of Jakarta 2019

There is a large-scale demonstration in Jakarta on October 14, 2016. A statement of One of Jakarta Governor Candidate for 2019 triggers this protest demonstration. People of Indonesia become angry because the statement issued about SARA.

Sara stands for Ethnic, Religious, Racial, and Inter group or Suku, Agama, dan Ras. This issue is the most sensitive issue for Indonesian People.

Indonesian does not only consist of one ethnic, one religious, one racial, or one Inter group. Indonesia is unity in diversity with a thousand of Island.

The video statement by this governor candidate become viral on the Internet. Then most religious leader responds to that statement. Indonesian Ulema Council published their fatwas related to this statement.

Starting point of this peaceful demonstration is from Istiqlal Mosque. The long march of this demonstration is taking place in the office of Criminal Investigation Agency of The Indonesian National Police and City Hall of Jakarta City.

About five thousand demonstrators participated in this massive demonstration. This demonstration not only organised in Jakarta.

Some provinces in Indonesia were also a participant in this protest demonstration. Some of the participant cities are Medan, Bandung, Palembang and Pontianak.

Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok

Mr. Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Mr. Ahok is one of popular governor candidate. Luckily, when Mr. Jokowi Dodo elected as President in 2014, then he gets the first position of Jakarta. He has become a Governor of Jakarta from 2014 until the election of 2017 later. Previously he is vice governor of Jakarta. He is also a politician, from Bangka-Belitung Islands.

Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono

Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono is crown prince of Mr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. He is the son of 6th President of Indonesia. His background is military, as same as his father. He has a brother, Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono or called as Ibas, that positioned as a senator.

Anies Rasyid Baswedan

The last candidate pair of Jakarta governor is Mr. Anies R. Baswedan. About last three month, he is The Ministry of Education and Culture. He knew as a brilliant figure who has supported Mr. Jokowi during his campaign. Sadly, he only positioned as The Ministry of Education and Culture for 20 months.

Yeah, it is politic. Even we can see their beautiful smile, but we do not know what will they do for the people of Jakarta. People of Jakarta, especially the urban and the poor people, hopes that these candidates is will do their job as better they can. Not only presented fake contract during their campaign.
